The fun of cockfight took the life of a man. In a tragic incident, a young man named Tanugula Satish was stabbed to death by a knife tied to the leg of a rooster.
Going into details, Satish from Kondapur, Velagatur Mandal organized cockfight with his friends in Thottunur. While he was making his rooster ready for the fight, he grabbed the other leg instead of the stabbed leg while lowering the chicken into the bet. When Satish grabbed the punju which was trying to escape, a knife fitted to the leg stabbed Satish in the stomach.
The victim was rushed to Jagtial District Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident happened three days ago. Police, who registered a case and launched an investigation, arrested the cockerel that killed the man.
Interestingly, the police locked the cock in a cell and named it A1 in the death case. Those who played cockfights were taken into custody.
