Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he would strive for achieving the special status to Andhra Pradesh on a continuous basis. He is also making the request at the Niti Aayog policy making meeting.
But it seems, the Centre is not at all willing to show any concern towards AP. As the national party has witnessed a humongous victory across the country, even Jagan stated that it would be tough to convince Prime Minister Narendra Modi for it.

Meanwhile, AP is in a deep crisis of funds and at this point of time, special package, which the Centre has accepted to grant the state, could support the financial needs of AP.
But the young CM, opposed the special package, when he was an opposition leader earlier. Jagan was strictly against it when the then TDP government accepted the package. At this point of time, if he accepts the same package from the Centre, it would surely invite criticism from the opposition parties.

So the only option Jagan has, is to fight for the special status, which BJP termed as a closed chapter or else accept the special package and face the heat from the opposition parties. Let’s see, which side, the dynamic CM, bends to.
