The YSRCP government has been adamant about so many decisions since it started its ruling in Andhra Pradesh. There’re number of rules introduced by them that faced severe backlash both in public and courts. However, Jagan being over-confident is taking some risky things for granted which could cost so many people’s lives if something goes wrong and it seems the actual case as of now.
It is known that the Government has decided to distribute thousands of homes to the poor. Part of this was the acquisition of large tracts of land wherever possible across the state. The government has acquired 23,377 acres for the distribution of house rails. The government has spent about Rs 7,000 crore for this. The highest number of 5548 acres in East Godavari district is Rs. 1628 crores. In many places the government bought private land and laid out too many plots.
Of course, the opposition accused Jagan’s government that many of these lands are suitable for living and called for a halt to government land acquisition in some districts. Because all these areas are waterlogged due to rains, the beneficiaries are worried that they will get in trouble if houses are built there. In addition to Godavari districts, Chandrababu Naidu, Somuveerraju and other leaders are adamant that even if the government builds thousands of acres of houses in Krishna, Guntur, Nellore and Kurnool districts, the beneficiaries cannot reside at these homes.
There is some evidence that the Kakinada’s ‘Aava lands’ are water logged after recent rains and the opposition is going berserk on the government for this reason. Now, Jagan being in the most responsible position of the state should put up an enquiry commission to counter attack the accusations of the opposition. He neither responded on the issue at the least and is behaving like he cares the least about the accusations from oppositions.
When there is no belief in the people on the government and there are ruling party leaders in question who are accused of making crores of profits by acquiring private lands for this scheme, the government should respond immediately and conclude the people about the facts. If the YSRCP government could do anything, that’s nothing but taking people’s lives for granted.
