Recently, a YSRCP loyalist, Kalakada Shyam Prasad Reddy, who hails from the Chittoor district, died due to coronavirus. He played a very crucial role in YSRCP’s IT department and is quite active on social media as well. He always follows Jagan’s words, word to word, at the state level, and has participated in every Padayatra of Jagan’s, with at least 120 members.
Reddy is known by almost every member belonging to the YSRCP. Despite that, it came as a shock that no one responded to his death. Reddy lives in Bangalore, and received treatment for Coronavirus, in a private hospital, for 12 days, after which he passed away.
There has been a lot of uprising on social media, and between members of the YSRCP, as no one responded to Reddy’s death. Following internal discussions, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy responded to Reddy’s death on social media and offered his condolences to the family.
The uprising on social media resulted in a great deal of embarrassment for Chief Minister Jagan, and a press note was immediately released, stating that Jagan had visited Reddy’s family and offered his condolences to them.
This is not the first time that a YSRCP loyalist has died due to coronavirus, and not the first time that there’s been no response. A lot of people have suffered similarly previously, and there’s a root level discernment towards how members of the party are being treated by those in power. It is now to be seen what kind of political consequences this will result in.
