Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is making sure that he goes against TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and erase the marks of TDP government in the state.
While Jagan was successful in the petty issues like demolishing Praja Vedika, removing Anna Canteens etc., he is finding it tough to act in the similar manner in sensitive and big issues like Capital City construction and Polavaram project. Though the young CM initially planned to shift the Capital city from Amaravati, he dropped the plan and sent the signals that there would not be any such shifting.
Adding to it, he also tried to halt the works of Polavaram, but the Centre severely went against it. The BJP government is also planning to undertake the project, anticipating that the completion of project, would bring a much needed mileage to the Lotus party in the state.
So unwilling to give such chance to the Centre, Jagan has decided to take the Polavaram project forward. But as the TDP government played a key role in the construction of it, Jagan is reportedly planning to change the name of it.
Even the YSRCP leaders are suggesting the same to the young CM. They are of the opinion that it was YS Rajashekar Reddy, who acquired site clearance, national project status, and various other legal permissions for the project. So they are keen to get the project renamed as YSR project.
But if Jagan really considers renaming of the project, he is expected to face a mega backlash from all the sides, as TDP had a major role in the huge project.
