Some crores of rupees roll out every time, when the newly elected public representatives, perform their swearing-in ceremonies. But on the contrast, Jagan Mohan Reddy, the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has come up with a record expenditure for his swearing-in ceremony.
On the oath taking ceremony conducted yesterday in Vijayawada. Jagan has only spent less than Rs 50 lakhs. Right from the beginning, the YSRCP Chief was keen to cut the expenditure for it, keeping in mind the budget of the state.
All the arrangements on the day of swearing-in ceremony, like the stage, invitation cards, food, furniture and other items costed Rs. 48.5 lakhs. Government Secretary (Political), General Administration Department, Srikant Nagulapalli said that the state government has released Rs. 29.10 lakhs in advance, with which Governor’s two-way travel, accommodation, dining facilities for chief guests and ACs have been arranged.
Jagan’s decision of spending less money for his oath taking ceremony is now receiving good response from the social media. Many are lauding the new Chief Minister for his concern on the public money, and are also expressing their confidence, that he would live up to the expectations of Andhrites, who offered him a thumping majority.
