One major and bold promise, Jagan made before the elections, was to ban alcohol. While, the young Chief Minister is already implementing it in phase-wise, he has now decided to come up with a fresh policy.
The Tamil Nadu government completely took hold of the liquor sales, and is selling it only through its own outlets. Inspired over it, Jagan is planning to do the same in Andhra Pradesh too.
Jagan has recently instructed the excise officials to shut down 876 wine shops immediately and another 20% after October 1st, as the new liquor policy will be implemented since then. As per the new policy, the sales will be registered online and if any difference is noticed between the stock and sales, the concerned officials will have to face a serious action from the state government.

Adding to it, 15000 people are expected to get employment when the government begins selling the liquor through its own outlets. So, the new policy is not only transparent, but also beneficial to the unemployed youth.
