It is known that the Andhra Pradesh is in a severe economic crisis when compared to other states and economists say it is nothing to do with the Covid pandemic. After Jagan’s 1 year rule, many economists and political analysts expressed disappointment over the economic state of AP by criticizing Jagan’s inability and unintentional nature to generate revenue by inviting investors, establishing industries, and developing the IT sector in the state.
Now, retired IAS and former Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao fires at Jagan in an unimaginable way. Usually, IYR would be quick to criticize Chandrababu Naidu but this time he has hit Jagan’s regime where it hurts the most. Krishna Rao openly criticized the AP CM for several policies that the AP government has been implementing for the past 1 year.
It is well known the CM was getting nationwide acclaim for his countless cash transfer programs like Rythu Bharosa, Amma Vadi, etc. But the problems come with the AP CM taking loans from the international private firms to fund his cash transfer schemes. Now, like every other sane person, Krishna Rao said that to would be wise for any wise government would distribute funds that were internally generated within the State as benefits to the people.
IYR eventually affirmed that “AP government goes on bringing loans to transfer cash to beneficiaries, it would not take much time for the State to sink into bottomless debts.” He also predicted that it wouldn’t take much time to bankrupt AP if the situation remains the same till next year and such a situation hasn’t raised in any state so far. So, amid all these criticism, do you still think Jagan will mind rethinking on his freebies?
