The former chief secretary of Andhra Pradesh IYR Krishna Rao, who is presently in Bharatiya Janata Party as an advisor, never fails to pass a comment on the way the Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minsiter YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, whenever given the chance. Recently, he once again commented on the financial position of the state.
IYR said that the Andhra Pradesh state is in one of the worst financial positions ever, due to the YSRCP’s government’s welfare schemes, for which the government is draining all of its revenues. He also said that one should look to the Union government’s budget when planning to make a budget, and to the AP government’s budget when they want to know how not to make a budget. He said that the election commission should introduce a rule wherein a party should show its state’s income to prove that it would be able to fulfil its promises when it comes into power.
On the other hand, BJP Rajya Sabha member G V L Narasimha Rao said that the state government was using the Central funds to fund its own schemes, as the Centre granted the most funds to the AP government in the last eight years.
