For the unversed, TDP president Chandrababu Naidu was served the notices by the IT department for allegedly holding Rs 118 crores of unaccounted money in his accounts.
The preliminary report is that Chandrababu syphoned these funds while he was the CM and this money is regarded as favors from infra companies.
The IT Department has now started to crack down the case with increased aggression and CBN is now being held to respond to the notices. This has come at the worst possible time for Chandrababu.
With elections around the corner, the IT notices paint a bad image for CBN just before the election. And adding to that, he will have sweat on these notices now, at a time when he should be devising the plans for his party’s election campaign.
Naidu is now caught in the worst possible turmoil at the wrong time.
