We all are aware of how the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government on Wednesday suffered a major setback in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council as Chairman M A Sharrif referred to a select committee two bills aimed at creating three capitals for the state for deeper examination.
Many TDP supporters say that this where experience comes into play in such handy situations. Though one could agree with the fact, there is an underlying sadism of the former Chief Minister Chandra Babu in this scenario. Generally, the bills that were stopped from the further development were passed in assembly because of the YSRCP majority but, they were enough-discussed issues by the members.
When it comes to the legislative council, Chandra Babu’s mind game came into play. There was no discussion, no weighing procedure of pros and cons and moreover no voting. The Chairman took the decision unanimously to send the bill for a thorough reference and study by the select committee which seemed unusual to some.
The Chairman of the legislative council, Sharif used to say that CBN is the one who is responsible for the place he is in today, has shown his loyalty to his mentor in one way or the other. But, some political experts say that those bills should have deserved some discussion, explanation and a lot more than a direct referral without voting. So, what is this behaviour of Chandra Babu Naidu should be termed?
