The Indian Premier League 2021, which has been suspended due to pandemic, is likely to resume on September 19 and run till October 10 in UAE.
The latest reports suggest that the remainder of the tournament which has 31 matches will be divided into 10 double headers, 7 single headers and 4 playoffs, which will be adjusted into the 21-day window. The BCCI hopes to wrap up the tournament before the ICC T20 World Cup.
As per reports, the teams will fly to UAE after the Test match against England on September 14 at Manchester. This will be a bubble to bubble transfer after there will a three-day quarantine in UAE.
The 14th edition of IPL was suspended on May 4 after many Covid-19 cases inside its bio-bubble came to light. Notably, IPL 2020 was held in UAE due to the first wave of COVID-19 in India.
