In an unexpected turn of events, the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, which was scheduled for today, has been postponed because of Covid-related concerns in the KKR camp.
As per reports, a few members of the KKR camp have been sent into isolation. However, it is for the first time in this season that a match is being suspended.
The reports revealed that two top stars from Kolkata Knight Riders – Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier – have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. They both left IPL 2021 Bio-bubble and went for a scan via an official green signal.
However, other KKR players tests have come negative so far. Following this development, the board has rescheduled the match between Kolkata and Bangalore. A new date for the match will be announced by today’s evening.
So far, Royal Challengers Bangalore led by Virat Kohli-led is in third place in the points table with 10 points while Kolkata Knight Riders are in the seventh position with two wins from seven games they played.
