Andhra Pradesh’s Amalapuram became the center of violence when the AP government proposed the idea of renaming Konaseema as BR Ambedkar district.
The violence in the area hasn’t gone down in the days since the announcement and has only increased. The government officials tried to subside the violence last Tuesday, which only made things worse.
As a result of these violent acts in the area, the internet supply has been cut out in the area. Additionally, the internet was cut out in the area due to the spreading of false information. Internet supply remains cut in the area to date.
Opposition parties have been calling out the government for endorsing such hate crimes in the state when they should be fighting against it. The government hasn’t done anything proactively to cut down this violence in the area yet.
