Gujarat Titans, one of the two teams which is freshly included into the Indian Premier League tournament, has now won their maiden IPL trophy, defeating Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After topping the league stage and winning the first qualifier, the team led by Hardik Pandya then cruised to victory in the IPL 2022 on Sunday.
Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets after the RR posted a below-par 130-9, opting to bat first.
Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya led by example with the ball by taking three wickets for 17 runs. He also shone with the bat, scoring 34.
Speaking about the records, Yuzvendra Chahal received the purple cap, and Jos Buttler got the orange cap. Umran Malik won the Emerging Player of the Season award. The IPL also entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest cricket jersey in the world.
