The Bhuma family found itself in the midst of a huge controversy, after Bhuma Akhila Priya, her husband Bhargav and her brother Jagat Vikhyat Reddy were caught in the Serlingampalli kidnapping case. Apart from this case, the Bowenpally police also filed a case against Bhargav and Jagat, after they faked their medical reports, which said that the two had tested positive for coronavirus, in order to skip police interrogations.
Bhuma Akhila Priya was arrested by the Bowenpally police and sent to Chanchalguda jail for 14 days, in the kidnapping case of CM KCR’s relative, when her husband and brother managed to get anticipatory bails. Bhargav was to appear before the court on the 3rd of this month, but he was absconding on the day. When the Police went to Lodha Apartments in Kukatpally, the watchman hadn’t allowed them inside, on Bhargav’s instructions. The police, nevertheless, conducted an extensive search in Bhargav’s apartment, but Bhargav was nowhere to be found. Cases were then filed against Bhargav and his watchman as well.
On the other hand, after the death of Bhuma Nagireddy, everyone that was close to Akhila’s family alienated them, and Jagat is said to be of the thought that this is because of Bhargav’s behaviour. Jagat is said to be interested in getting into politics, instead of his sister, but Jagat would be short of 2 months, to be eligible to contest in 2024 elections. This would make it mandatory for Akhila Priya to be a part of the elections, but Jagat is said to be trying to find a way to make sure that he enters politics now, instead of his sister.
