The new President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) was supposed to have been announced by June 24th. However, this did not come to pass, and the latest reports suggest that there’s a lot going on behind the scenes, because of which the announcement didn’t take place.
It is being said that the two top contenders for the post of President, who are currently in Delhi, lobbying their candidature, met up in secret and held a meeting. The two are said to have discussed that no matter who is given the post, it is to be seen that the senior members of the party are to be made Members of the Parliament (MP) and that the younger members should be made the Members of the Legislature (MLA).
The news of this meeting is said to have reached the high command of Congress, and a five-page letter is also said to have been submitted about the same. The Congress high command is now said to be reviewing this letter, and an inquiry into the matter is said to be going on. A new PCC President is unlikely to be appointed until the inquiry is completed.
