India vs England, 2nd Test: India beat England by 317 runs

Team India has retaliated for the first Test defeat against England. The hosts lost to the visitors by 227 runs in the first Test. Now, sending strong signals for the opponent team, India defeated England by a huge margin of 317 runs in the second Test. England was bowled out for 164 in the second innings with a huge target of 482.

Ravichandran Ashwin led with his all-round brilliance to level the four-match series at 1-1. He took eight wickets in the match and scored a thrilling century on a catchy pitch as India wrapped the game in four days.

Rohit Sharma’s seventh Test century and Axar Patel’s maiden five-wicket haul on his debut were other important contributors for the team as they ruled the visitors throughout the game.

In the England innings, captain Joe Root made 33 off 92 balls with 3 fours and was bowled by Akshar Patel. Moeen Ali smashed 43 off 18 deliveries and got stumped for Kuldeep Yadav to wrap up the game for India.

With this victory, team captain Virat Kohli equalled Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s record of 21 wins at home.
