India on Monday restored its top position in the ICC rankings after winning the two-match series 1-0 against New Zealand, the current World Test champions.
India beat the visitors by 372 runs in the second Test at Mumbai on the fourth day after drawing the opening match in Kanpur.
The Virat Kohli-led side now has 124 rating points and is followed by New Zealand (121), Australia (108), England (107), Pakistan (92), South Africa (88), Sri Lanka (83), West Indies (75), Bangladesh (49) and Zimbabwe (31).
The victory in Mumbai also meant that India recorded their 14th consecutive series win at home. Apparently, Kohli became the first player with 50 international wins in each format of the game.
On the WTC table, India is third with 42 points and win percentage is 58.33. Sri Lanka leads the position with two wins in as many games and Pakistan is second with a win percentage of 66.66.
