2020 has been a tough year for the entire world. For India, it has been highly stressful with Covid-19, Chinese aggression, explosions and now the Credit/Debit card details leakage. As per the latest update, 70 lakh Credit/Debit card details were said to have got leaked in the dark web.
Cyber security researcher Rajasekhar Razaria mentioned that all those details belongs to Indians. Going further, he identified that these details belongs to the employees of Axis Bank, McKinsey & Company, BHEL and Kellogg India Pvt. Razaria mentioned that few third party companies that works with the banks to collect these details might have leaked them to the dark web.
Cyber criminals can use these details to commit crimes and hence the Government is alerted on this issue. It is known that several hackers from China were constantly looking for loop holes in Indian cyber space to attack the nation. In this scenario, this sort of incidents were being taken quite seriously by the Government.
