Music director turned actor, Vijay Anthony, became famous in the Telugu states with his film Bichagadu, which was released way back in 2016. Seven years later, Vijay came up with a sequel for the film, Bichagadu 2, which has been released today.
There have been decent expectations and a good buzz on the film ever since it was announced, thanks to the magnanimous success of the first film in the Telugu states.
The second part has been released today, and has opened to a very mixed response from the audiences and critics alike, who have criticised the film’s formulaic plotline, as opposed to its predecessor, which had attempted something new.
Vijay’s performance in the film has also gotten a very mixed response, with the actor said to have been very inconsistent when it came to his performance in emotional sequences.
Having said that, Bichagadu has managed to bring in good collections on the first day, with several theatres even showing housefull. The momentum of the film is expected to carry on for the weekend, as there’s no other film that’s going to give Bichagadu 2 tough competition.
The exact opening numbers of the film are going to show up tomorrow, and it looks like the film is going to be a profitable venture for the producers.
