At Vinukonda in the district of Palnadu, in AP, there is high tension currently, owing to the rivalry between the YSRCP and TDP factions, which has intensified local politics. TDP activists were attacked by YSRCP activists using sticks and stones near the surrounding RTC bus stop, where a fight broke out amongst party activists, prompting the CI to open fire.
This came about as a result of TDP activists staging a rally in the community to call for the dismissal of the unlawful charges brought against senior TDP leader and former VINUKONDA MLA GV Anjaneyulu. The moment they arrived at the RTC bus stop, YSRCP MLA Bolla Brahmanaidu confronted them. He stepped out of his car and told the TDP leaders that he was prepared to have a conversation on sand mining, in a sarcastic manner. TDP activists yelled insults at Brahmanaidu for using the mines for illicit mining.
The TDP cadres were halted by the police. They were told to go out. TDP and YSRCP activists began throwing stones at one another following this. To calm things down, Town CI Sambasiva Rao fired shots into the air. The cops used a lathe on TDP activists. The TDP supporters retaliated by yelling at the police. After learning the news, GV Anjaneyulu hurried to the bus stop.
