YS Vivekananda Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s very own uncle was murdered at his Pulivendula house last year, right before the elections. The then opposition leader Jagan said that it was Chandrababu Naidu who got his uncle killed, and said that he would make sure that a proper CBI investigation was done into the matter after he came to power.
However, things changed drastically after Jagan came to power, and Jagan never ordered for any investigation. Upset with this, Viveka’s daughter approached the High Court directly, and got a CBI investigation approved, into her father’s death. After the investigation was already underway, the CBI team that was investigating the issue contracted Coronavirus. Back then itseld, the Magistrate court refused to hand over the case files related to Viveka’s murder, to the CBI. The CBI had then approached the HC for the grant.
With the first team contracting Coronavirus, another team was appointed to investigate the matter. The High Court has now asked the Magistrate court to had over all the files related to the murder, to the CBI.
On the other hand, all political circles have been rife with speculation about why Jagan was not interested in getting to the bottom of the murder case of his own uncle.
