It seems as though the AP government’s problems are endless. One after the other, new problems are cropping up, and the latest to do so is Happy Nest. Happy Nest is the prestigious residential apartments complex that was started in Amaravati, by the previous government. The CRDA started the project and promised the customers that the flats would be delivered by December 2021 and that the customers would get back their money if the flats aren’t delivered on time. Customers paid 10% of the total amount, meaning that the CRDA got a total of Rs. 90 Crores, which has been spent by now.
The current YSRCP governetmn stopped the construction of these flats after it came to power, and the government is now planning a reverse tender to finish constructing the flats. At a time when no contractor is ready to take up laying roads, it is highly impossible for anyone to come forward to complete constructing these flats. Even if someone shows up, it is impossible to complete constructing these flats within four months.
All the customers that have invested in these flats are now demanding to return their money, as they are no longer interested in the flats since Amaravati is no longer the capital of the state, which was why they had taken the flats in the first place. It is now to be seen what the AP government will do, to come out of this situation.
