In many live-saving situations, we have seen officials providing a green corridor to transport live organs in an ambulance or special flights. For the first time in Hyderabad, the doctors transported a live heart of a brain dead man on a metro train on Tuesday.
As per the reports, the heart retrieved from 45-year-old brain dead farmer from Nalgonda district has been prepared to arrange for another man who is being treated at Jubilee hills Apollo Hospital. The farmer’s family stepped forward to donate the heart.
Doctors said the heart transplant surgery would be performed under the supervision of Dr Gokule. The heart was shifted from LB Nagar Kamineni Hospital to Jubilee Hills Apollo Hospital.
The doctors opted for the Hyderabad Metro for heart transportation in the wake of the heavy traffic in the city. Consultations were held with Metro officials and the staff stretched their support in making it possible. The officials took steps to prevent any complications in the heart evacuation as hospital staff informed them.
