TDP leader Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that he had been trying to congratulate Jagan Mohan Reddy upon forming the government, for the past two days, but couldn’t do it, till now.
Speaking to the media in Tirupathi after Lord Venkateshwara’s darshan, Ganta said, “I along with Payyavula Keshav were asked by TDP to meet Jagan and congratulate him. We couldn’t do it, even upon making multiple trials.”
Not stopping there, Ganta also criticized the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, saying that it is not fair for him to warn the opposition party and also the media, on oath taking ceremony.
“Jagan is already trying to avoid Navaratnas and is also taking revenge on the past government, by cancelling all the tenders. After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, Jagan is trying to change his words on special category status to Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
He also noted about the pension hike, saying that Jagan promised to hike the pensions to Rs. 3000, and now after forming the government, he limited it to Rs. 2250. He is also trying to ban selling alcohol stage-wise and allow it only in the hotels, which was not mentioned in the manifesto.
Ganta said that it is not new for TDP to play the role of an opposition party. “We will review our activities internally and identify the mistakes and thus try to gain back the public confidence soon”, he concluded.
TDP had to face a miserable defeat in AP elections 2019 and right after forming the government, YSRCP is making sure that it changes everything TDP created in its ruling. While the names of a few of the government schemes have already been changed, Jagan’s government is planning to take more measures to erase the memories of the past government and thus make sure that YSRCP remains stable for more number of years.
