Hyderabad: With the increase in Black fungus infection cases amid covid-19 second wave, the black marketing of respective medicines too cropped up in the recent times due to the increasing demand.
Four people, including two doctors, were nabbed for black marketing drugs that are used for treating the Black Fungus infection among COVID-19 patients on Monday. On their arrest, the Hyderabad police seized six Liposomal Amphotericin B injections (fungilip 5p), four cell phones and an illegally acquired amount of Rs 29,600 from the criminals.
Police stated, task force officials of the north zone team held four people for purportedly involving in illegal buying and selling Liposomal Amphotericin B injections or Fungilip 5p, which were of 50 milligram in black market for Rs 50,000 each vial as opposed to original price Maximum Retail Price of Rs 7,400 . The decoy operation was conducted by the task force officials near Medicover hospital close to the state secretariat, where all the accused were apprehended.
The seized material was sent to the Saidabad police station for further action. The four incriminated have been found to be Dr. Dubal Ramesh, Dr. Lingala Raghavendra Goud, Jallau Srikanth and 23-year-old Mohd Ahmed. Police are in search of another accused named Vutla Saidulu, who is still absconding.
