Several cases have been registered against various people in Andhra Pradesh, for making derogatory comments against the judges of the AP High Court. A few of these people have recently been arrested. P. Adarsh, L Sambasiva Reddy, Dhamireddy Konda Reddy and Pamula Sudhir were arrested by the CBI on July 28th, and Lingareddy Rajasekhar Reddy was arrested on July 9th, while returning from Kuwait. Adarsh and Sambasiva Reddy have also been presented in court.
MP Nandigam Suresh and former MLA Amanchi Krishnamohan’s involvement in the case is also being investigated, and five out of 16 people have been arrested so far, while give are abroad. Other MLAs and former MPs are also being looked at, by the CBI, for their involvement in the case.
The CBI had already been instructed to investigate completely into the case and submit a full report on it, by the AP HC. On Friday, the Supreme Court expressed concerns over the increase in the comments against the Judiciary all over the country, and the CBI arresting these people rights after the AP judiciary complained of the CBI and IB not being concerned over this issue is something to be noted.
