Farmers primarily from Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh are marching towards Delhi on Tuesday to exert pressure on the government. Their demands include a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops.
Additionally, they seek the implementation of the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations, pensions for farmers and farm laborers, farm debt waiver, withdrawal of police cases, justice for victims of the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, reinstatement of the Land Acquisition Act 2013, withdrawal from the World Trade Organization, and compensation for families of deceased farmers from the previous protest, among other issues.
In this regard, they are said to be reaching the place with food and fuel that is enough for next six months. Some of the farmers are saying that they would not leave the protest until the demands are served and so they are coming to protest with all preparations for the next six months. They are reaching out the place with huge number of truck with all the necessary things.
