Varun Tej and Praveen Sattaru are coming together for Gandheevadari Arjuna which is billed to be a full blown action thriller set in a foreign backdrop.
Meanwhile, there’s a fake news report on the film in circulation, saying the film went overboard on budget and the makers ended up spending Rs 55 crores on the same. But the reality is different.
It is confirmed by official sources that the film was made on a budget of Rs 40 crores. The hero and the rest of the crew worked on tight call sheets in order to keep the production costs under control. So the project was executed on a pre planned budget.
Also, the hero and the director took only 50% of their remuneration to help the producer with the production. They wanted the best possible output and even took a pay cut for the same.
A sum of Rs 25 crores of the total 40 crores production costs has been recovered through non theatricals itself. So the rest 15 crores can easily be recovered through theatrical release with a decent talk.
The film is set for release on 25 August and the prospects are good as it is being promoted as a slick action thriller with excellent making standards.
