What is this? Chandra Babu Naidu is no more the Chief Minister, so why is he receiving a letter from the External Affairs Minister, Jaishankar? If this was your doubt too, then don’t get confused. This was not about politics. It was all about Coronavirus.
As the Coronavirus COVID-2019 spread to beyond 20 countries and is getting out of control, countries are taking more strict measures to contain the virus to as minimum victims as possible.
In this effort, many Indians who are stuck in various parts of the world in detention are facing troubles. In this situation, Naidu is trying to do his bit to help Telugu people.
Chandra Babu Naidu enquired on 30th of January on the status of 58 Telugu engineers who are stuck in Wuhan. To this the MEA Jaishankar had replied saying that 56 of them were transported to India on February 1st itself by Air India.
They are all under medical supervision right now. But since 2 of those 56 engineers had show abnormal body temperatures, Chinese authorities refused to let them outside of Wuhan.
But the Indian Government is constantly in touch with the Chinese officials with the health and upkeep of those both. We will in turn update you regularly on this, assured Jaishankar to Chandra Babu Naidu.
