There are many directors now in the film industry and very few heroes. Most directors are without work because they are either waiting for star heroes for dates and are not willing to do web series meanwhile and kill time or make money.
They are single minded in their goal and are willing to take risk. The mid-range directors, a few of them have been booked by the tier 2 heroes and the calendar for at least two years with them is booked.
Changes do happen in between with new projects cropping up suddenly and decided projects taking a back seat.
