RS Praveen Kumar, the IPS officer who took voluntary retirement last month, on Sunday, joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the presence of its national coordinator Ramji Gautam at the Bahujana Rajyadikara Sankalpa Sabha held at NT College Grounds in Nalgonda town.
The former Secretary of TSWREIS, who was appointed Telangana State Coordinator, said it was time for Dalits and Bahujans to strive to achieve political power in Telangana. He called for moving forward towards fulfilling the unfulfilled aspirations and hopes that have remained the same for years.
Praveen said education and employment opportunities should be provided for the betterment of Dalits and Tribals. Taking on KCR’s Dalita Bandhu scheme, which is an estimated package of Rs 1000 crore, the Ex-IPS said, “The schemes are our constitutional right, not your charity. The Rs 1000 crore belongs to the weaker sections who tilled the lands. If you have any love towards us, spend your own money on us.”
He also asked the massive gathering whether they want to be rulers or slaves to which the attendees shouted that they want to be rulers. According to Praveen, education, health, and employment would be the primary agenda.
