Actress turned politician Vijayashanti started her political career in 1997, as the general secretary of the women’s wing, in the Bharatiya Janata Party. She quit the party in 2005, to form her own party, Talli Telangana, which she merged with the TRS party later on. In 2014, she joined the Congress, and in 2020, she returned to BJP. Now, she has once again come back to Congress and has made several interesting accusations against the BJP.
She said that the BJP and BRS are in cahoots with each other, and while they may say one thing in public, they are one and the same behind closed doors. Vijayashanti noted that she was promised by the BJP that they would put an end to KCR’s corrupt ways when she rejoined the party in 2020, but since nothing of that sort has been done so far, she joined the Congress, which is actively taking measures to put an end to KCR’s corruption.
Vijayashanti also said that the main reason for the BJP not being active in the state currently, despite the elections being very near, is because of the removal of Bandi Sanjay as the party’s president. She said that she had warned that this would happen if Bandi Sanjay were removed as the party’s president at a time when the elections are approaching. She also went on to question Etala Rajendar’s role in the party, and how nothing has been done with regards to his encroachment cases. Vijayashanti even said that Etala is a seed planted by KCR in the BJP.
