The door-to-door ration delivery scheme has been halted due to the implementation of the Panchayat Election Code in villages. The scheme has begun in the towns too.
The door-to-door ration delivery scheme was stopped in Kakinada and Rajahmundry. The MDU drivers are saying that they could work as the pay was too low and that no one is cooperating with them.
They said that they could do door-to-door delivery if their problems were solved. 1076 MDU vehicles have been prepared in the district for the door-to-door supply of ration rice.
Vehicles are allocated according to the population in municipalities. A total of 58 drivers under the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation took all the vehicles and parked them on the road at Anam Kalakendram.
