It is only fair to say that Puri Jagannadh is one of the most dynamic directors in Tollywood. In his long career, Puri has worked with superstars, mid-range heroes, and newcomers. He is probably the only director to work with such a wide range of actors in recent times.
In one of his recent interactions with media, Puri says he places all his trust in his stories and doesn’t really care if he makes it with a top star or a newcomer.
“While writing a story, we feel that a particular hero would suit it best. But various factors come into play and the hero might not come on board. I don’t really care if my film has a top star or a newcomer. I will start working on the project by roping in a newcomer and this speaks a lot about my passion and gives me a peculiar character. I won’t wait wait for anyone,” he says.
Puri says there will obviously be a scale down in terms of market and production cost if we make a film with newcomers and not with stars.
“Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai is my best work till date and none of my subsequent works topped it. I wrote a similar story and will start working on it soon,” the star director said.
Puri’s upcoming film stars Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in the lead roles. The film has been tentatively titled ‘Fighter’. The official title will be announced in the days to come.
