Popular digital streaming giant Disney+ Hotstar has announced a new version of the Indian epic Mahabharata, which will be the biggest project in the Indian OTT space.
Mahabharata will be produced by Madhu Mantena, Mythoverse Studios and Allu Entertainment. It is known that the Allu family recently launched Allu Entertainments. Now they have come on board as the co-producers of this series.
Announcing the same, Geetha Arts tweeted some concept art pictures and wrote, “The greatest epic ever written- retold at a scale never seen before! Stay tuned for an ethereal spectacle- #Mahabharat, is coming soon only on @DisneyPlusHS.”
The announcement about the Mahabharata was made at the global Disney fan event D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. The Indian mythology epic talks about the battle between right and wrong, as the cousins Kauravas and the Paṇḍavas fight in Kurukshetra.
