The tragic incident caused a stir in the town, with students and family members staging a protest, demanding severe action against the accused.

According to reports, the deceased girl of Gollapadu village in Muppala Mandal was studying in a private college in Narasaraopet town. Harshavardhan Reddy from Bollapalli was also studying in the same college.

The accused took the victim Anusha on his bike to a remote place to have a chat. Eventually, they both had an argument and in a fit of anger, Harshavardhan Reddy killed her and threw her body into a canal. Later, he surrendered before the Narasaraopet police.
