Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders played their second game together in the current Dream 11 Indian Premier League. Prior to the beginning of the match, Delhi Capitals were the favorites but Kolkata Knight Riders picked themselves up from a humiliating defeat in their last match and played exceptionally well on Saturday. Kolkata Knight Riders displayed a great performance with the bat as well as the ball. Kolkata batted first and scored 196 runs with a loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Kolkata Knight Riders lost two wickets in the powerplay but Nitish Rana managed to score 81 and push the team’s score to 196. Sunil Narine, with a half-century, extended his support to Rana, and together, they put the team in a comfortable place. Except for Anrich Nortje, all the other DC bowlers failed to control KKR batsmen.
For the first ball of the second innings, Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed by Pat Cummins. The back to back fall of wickets troubled the DC batsmen who succumbed to pressure. Varun Chakravarthy has taken five wickets in the game and stood as the outstanding performer in the game. Varun became the first cricketer to take five wickets in Dream 11 Indian Premier League.
In the end, Kolkata Knight Riders won the match by 59 runs and occupied fourth place on the points table.
