After the spread of novel corona virus there had been innumerable news alerts on symptoms, masks, sanitizers and vaccines on a regular basis. How much the truth surrounding the disease and measures are notified, fake news too proliferated at the same rate.
Many people have been befuddled in figuring out the actual truth In the meantime, a news paper gave strange news. “What if sanitizer continuously used for 50 to 60 days could cause life threatening skin diseases and cancer?” It went viral on Kasta Net and few other channels. The netizens shared the news to their friends and others unknowingly, which created turmoil.
In no time the news reached the central health department and the health experts have rubbished such fake news claiming not even 1% of this is true. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) on Tuesday busted the myth and cleared the air that using hand sanitizers does not trigger any harmful side effects to the skin and also share it on twitter. It further suggested people to use hand sanitizers with 70% alcohol content to safe guard against covid-19.
After PIB debunked the hoax news, many citizens appealed the ministry to take legal action against the wrong doers who are involved in spreading false news with a motto to avoid misconceptions in the future.
