Hyderabad: The COVID-19 pandemic has not seem to have reduced despite centre began vaccinating its citizens, who are eligible to be inoculated, the cases seem to still rise.
As the second wave is on and challenging citizens nationwide, many have chosen to disregard all social distancing norms and aren’t following the COVID safety precautions seriously in spite of the rising cases.
The next fortnight is crucial for Telangana to curb virus particularly after the polls in the state, as many have amassed posing threat to others’ lives. Hence, everyone need to be vigilant about the circumstance by taking necessary precautions and self isolate in before hand, advised health experts.
As the total tally of cases recorded on Saturday were 216, atleast 52 of them were reported in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. This implies a rise of 50% as compared to 20-25 cases being recorded daily in GHMC limits till last week.
“The vaccine is already available. Cases will not increase now,” said a youngster who had ventured out for a drive in HiTec City without a mask, as reported by a media portal in Hyderabad.
The feeling that vaccine is available has given a sense of false confidence to people, even the ones who have not taken the vaccine,” iterated a senior health spokesperson from the state health department. He added that majority of them are not even getting themselves tested despite being a first or second contacts.
