With the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus virus, the whole nation has been stranded. However, comparatively the country’s economic capital, Mumbai has been awfully effected. Maharashtra has already surpassed the world’s most populous country, China with reporting of recent positive cases. The city of Mumbai has overtaken Wuhan, China, where the virus has originated.
A total of 50,333 and corona positive cases were reported in Wuhan, while 3,869 people died. The latest statistics show that 51,000 cases were reported in Mumbai and 1,760 died. Nevertheless, the death rate is low when compared with that of Wuhan.
In the last 24 hours, 2,259 cases have been reported in Maharashtra. The total number of cases in the state is close to one lakh. On the other hand, there were 7466 deaths in the country. 3,289 people lost their lives in Maharashtra alone. But the Chinese government has already succeeded in controlling the virus to a greater extent. On the flipside, the situation in India is quite different, where the spread of the virus in the country has been transmitting rapidly.
The number of positive cases that was up to seven thousand per day till last week, is now rised to ten thousand. Covid’s influence is particularly high in the states of Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. After the fourth phase of the lockdown, it was expected of reduction in the cases, but the virus spread has grown rampantly on contrary to what was expected.
