The COVID vaccine is the much awaited one all over the world and according to the estimation of the people, it should get released by January 2021 or at the summer 2021 at the least given the ongoing this phase clinical trials.
But it seems the public will have to wait until 2022 for the Covid vaccine, said Dr Randeep Guleria, a member of the National Task Force on Coronavirus Management in India. He said it would take “over a year” for the coronavirus vaccine to become easily available in Indian markets.
In a recent interview, Randeep Guleria said, “Our country has a population of 130 crore. It takes a long time to buy a vaccine like the flu vaccine from the market. In fact, it may be too late, “he said. He described the challenges that India will face after the availability of the coronavirus vaccine. Mainly vaccine distribution- it is important to make sure that it reaches every part of the country.
Guleria added that “the biggest challenge is to have enough syringes, enough needles and uninterrupted supply to the remote part of the country to store the vaccine,” he said. If another vaccine is powerful, it must be distributed to the public. He said the process would start again if it seemed more effective than the first.
This is such a pity as the hint of COVID second wave is coming from all parts of the world and India is expressing its helplessness in the distribution of the COVID vaccine. All the technological departments, health directories, ministries need to step up to make the vaccine available to the people at the earliest.
