Initially, the government conducted the COVID-19 confirmatory tests in the country by spending a lot of money. Primarily, each test cost around Rs.4,500 and the result will be given after 24 hours by the specified laboratories.
Now, GCC Biotech India in West Bengal formulated a device that will produce the COVID-19 result in just 90 minutes. This device costs Rs.500 and many COVID-19 tests can be conducted in a single time using this device. This device is known as ‘Real-time Corona testing Kit’.
The Managing Director of GCC Biotech India R Majumdar said, “After 2 months of R&D we made this kit. It is cost-effective as it contains all reagents produced by us. We’ve made 1 crore test kits and have 40 lakh in store. If India can do 3 lakh tests per day, we will be able to support the government without any problems,”
“Testing kits were prepared following three procedures all leads to testing quality of Proteins and Enzymes and a private laboratory is charging Rs.4,500 for the COVID testing kit and this device would be fruitful for many states who are economically weak.
