We already reported that director Mahi V. Raghava, who helmed the biopic of the late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, will soon be planning another biopic- this time on YSR’s son, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is the current chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
It was also heard that Pratik Gandhi, who became an overnight sensation with the portrayal of Harshad Mehta on Hansal Mehta’s Scam 1992, has been roped in to play YS Jagan in the biopic.
Now, we exclusively learnt that CM Jagan has asked director Mahi V. Raghava to release the former’s biopic exactly one year before the elections. As they discussed, the film will be released in the year 2023, whereas the general elections for Andhra Pradesh’s Legislative Assembly are expected to be held in 2024.
Going by the update from the source, it looks like CM Jagan is keeping his special interest in this biopic as he aims to use it for his election campaign. It remains to be seen how far this film can help the AP CM to attract voters for the next elections.
