During the release of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab film, the Andhra Pradesh government had shocked the movie team by releasing an overnight GO, which restricts the film ticket prices for different classes of seats.
This decision of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government came as a shock to producers and fans of Pawan Kalyan alleged that the GO was passed with political intentions.
However, after considering the plight of the filmmakers, the AP government has given a major relief to the industry by an amendment that gives the power to the state to fix rates from time to time. With this amendment, the concerned authorities can impose rates at their will.
Although it is a bit of a relief for Telugu filmmakers, the fans of Pawan Kalyan feel that the government may trouble Pawan Kalyan yet again as he has two big-budget films lined up for the release. They fear that the makers of Pawan Kalyan’s films may get targeted by the Jagan government just like what happened in the case of Vakeel Saab. However, we cannot say anything now and we have to wait until the films hit the big screens.
