Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday wrote one more letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention on the Krishna water dispute with neighbouring state Telangana.
The CM once again complained about the attitude of the Telangana government and said the KCR led state is violating the operation protocol illegally. He urged the PM to notify the jurisdiction of the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB).
In his letter, the CM alleged that Telangana is illegally pumping water without any water reserves in the Srisailam Project, which is affecting the state of AP directly.
“Without giving any information to KRMB, Telangana is generating electricity in Srisailam, Nagarjunasagar and Pulichinthala. This will cause trouble to the Krishna Delta and Rayalaseema region. To protect the interests of both states, projects should be brought under the purview of CISF forces. The Central Water Resources Department should be instructed to immediately clamp down on the Telangana government,” Jagan wrote.
