In spite of having a decent action hero image, off-late, Gopi Chand is coming up with some content-driven films, without missing the action in it. Chanakya is one such film, that is both an action and also content-oriented film. The just-a-while released trailer hints the same.
Going with the trailer, Gopi Chand seems to be a RAW agent in the disguise of an innocent bank employee. While he is decent in the attire of a bank employee, the stylish avatar in another look is impressive. The trailer reminds us of Gopi’s earlier film Saahasam, where he got to deal with the Pakistanis, just like how he is doing it in Chanakya now.
Abdul Salem, a dangerous terrorist, runs away from Pakistan and comes back after several years. The protagonist is assigned the duty of nabbing him, while the Pakistanis who noticed this, issued shoot-at-sight orders on the male lead. How is Gopi going to manage the entire scene and nab Salem, seems to be the crux of the film.
Unlike the regular commercial films, Chanakya has a strong point to tell, that too interestingly in Pakistan’s backdrop.
Mehreen and Zareen Khan are playing the female leads and Thiru is directing it. Vishal Chandrasekhar is composing the tunes for the film, which is up for the release on the 5th of October.
