After two phases of vaccination drive held successfully, the preparations for next phase is expected to have more number of beneficiaries.
The next phase of the world’s largest Covid-19 vaccination drive for individuals above the age of 45 commenced today, 1 April exactly after 1 month when second phase began. Citizens can now register, book the appointment slot for vaccination, anytime and anywhere, through the Co-WIN website, or the Aarogya Setu app.
As per the information updated by the Health Ministry, citizens can also visit their nearest vaccination centre after 3 pm and fix the on-site registration.
This is a huge vaccination drive being held by the State, with a goal to cover as many people above 45 years as possible in the next 45 days. Government even took an initiative to increase the number of vaccination sites, which are being prepared in selected private hospitals, Central and State health institutions and public places. The Union Health Ministry has assured to make available more vaccines for the State, a press release issued by the department read. For this purpose centre made more than 9 lakh vaccines available for all the states. It also ordained hospitals to keep the vaccine wastage below 1%.
More than 6.5 crore vaccine inoculations have been given across the country so far to frontline workers, healthcare workers, those above 60 and for individuals aged above 45 with specified co-co-morbid conditions.
