The CBI has been asked to submit a counter-petition in the bail revocation case that was filed against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. However, the CBI failed to do so until now. The CBI has now finally submitted its counter-petition, which consists of three, literally three lines. Even this submission came after the CBI court said that this would be the last chance that it gave the CBI, after which it would go ahead with its own investigation.
The CBI, in its counter-petition, asked the CBI court to go ahead with the case as per the case merits. All of this was conveyed in three, and literally just three lines. The CBI took many chances from the CBI Court to submit this counter-petition, stating lockdown as one of the reasons. This led everyone to believe that the CBI was preparing pages and pages of a petition, which finally led to a huge disappointment.
On the other hand, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s lawyers have filed a 98-page counter-petition, stating that the CM did not violate any of the bail conditions, that he did not misuse his power and that he did not threaten any witnesses in the cases. The CBI court adjourned the case to the 14th of this month, where the CBI lawyers are expected to argue. However, there’s also speculation that the CBI may not even bother to argue, which would lead to further political turmoil in the state, and prove YSRCP member, Narasapuram MP, and Jagan’s bail revocation petitioner, Raghu Ramakrishna Raju’s statements right. In his petition, RRR said that Jagan was influencing the CBI as well, and with the CBI submitting just 3 lines, and if they go on to not even argue in the case, RRR’s statements would prove to be right, which might lead to a lot of political unrest in the state.
Whether the CBI argues or not, experts say that there are high chances for Jagan’s bail to be revoked. It is now to be seen what will happen.
